At Suraj Carpet Udhyog, our journey is defined by passion, dedication, and decades of hands-on experience in the art of Nepali handmade rugs.

Our founder, Mr. Hari Krishna Pudasaini, began his career in the rug industry as a weaver, gaining practical insight into the craft over two years. Driven by a vision to innovate and excel, he then worked as a designer for 11 years across multiple rug companies in Nepal. During this time, when computer-aided design was not available, he meticulously created intricate rug designs by hand on graph paper. This extensive experience gave him a profound understanding of every aspect of the Nepali rug industry.

In 2009, Mr. Pudasaini realized his vision by establishing Suraj Carpet Udhyog, a factory dedicated to producing premium handmade rugs while preserving traditional craftsmanship.

In 2013, his son, Mr. Suraj Pudasaini, joined the company as a designer. Suraj refined his skills at the GoodWeave Foundation, learning modern rug design techniques and gaining invaluable knowledge from his father. He also worked with other rug companies to understand international standards and the export market.

Today, Suraj Carpet Udhyog not only fulfills orders for other companies but is fully prepared to export directly, delivering Nepalese craftsmanship to customers worldwide. Over the years, Suraj has developed a collection of original designs, which can be explored on our website.
